Ojas is our super-fine essence. This recipe is great when we’re feeling depleted and our internal organs need nourishment. Enjoy this delicious, building drink without food. Before consuming, make sure that your digestion is strong and your tongue does not have a white coating. If your digestion is weak or your tongue is coated use one of these recipes for a few days to strengthen your digestion before enjoying the Ojas Formula: Digestive Tea, Anti-Ama Formula, Lemon Ginger Honey Nectar.

Serves: 1

Prep Time: 10 minutes (and soaking overnight)

3 to 4 Dates

8 to 9 Almonds

1/8 tsp. cinnamon

1/8 tsp. ginger

1/8 tsp. cardamom

1 cup of milk

Soak the dates and almonds overnight in filtered water. Peel the skins off of both (the skins are astringent, so therefore a bit drying and not as nourishing as the dates and almonds themselves). Add the dates, almonds and spices to a blender with a bit of milk. Blend until smooth. Add to the rest of the milk and heat on the stove to boiling. Boil for 5 minutes. Let it cool slightly, and enjoy!
