90-Minute Abhyanga and Kati Basti

Abhyanga is an application of high-quality warm oil that is infused with herbs. This full-body treatment is designed to penetrate the skin, relax the mind, and break up impurities. It stimulates both lymphatic and arterial circulation, which delivers nutrients to starved cells and removes stagnant waste. Abhyanga results in a heightened state of awareness, which directs the internal healing system of the body. Healing and spiritual power manifest in the body as Abhyanga opens these internal pathways.  This all-over-body abhanga treatment relaxes the entire body, allowing the Kati Basti treatment to focus on the muscles specifically around the sacrum and up the spine. Kati Basti is a pool of high-quality oil infused with herbs contained in a ring of dough on the back. The oil penetrates deeply into the sacrum bringing pain relief and a feeling of being grounded. It can also be used on other areas of the back, the knees, the neck, or the heart. This treatment is especially beneficial for spine and disc issues. The sacrum is a site of vata in the body and applying this pool of oil to the sacrum also helps to reduce feelings of anxiety, worry, fear, insecurity, and loneliness, feelings associated with a vata imbalance. 7-10 consecutive treatments are recommended for sustained benefits.
