Anti-Ama Formula: Detoxifying Tea for Metabolic Clarity

This anti-ama formula is an Ayurvedic digestive remedy designed to help reduce ama, the toxic buildup that forms when digestion is weak.

In Ayurvedic philosophy, strong digestion is the foundation of health, while ama can contribute to sluggishness and imbalance.

Warming ingredients and digestive spices are traditionally used to stimulate agni (digestive fire) and help the body process food more effectively.

This simple preparation supports the body’s natural ability to clear toxins and restore digestive balance.

Prep Time:

Serves:

10 minutes to mix the herbs, 2 minutes to make the tea

Enough powdered formula for approximately 24 cups of tea

Ingredients

Preparation

Mix the above ingredients together and place in a glass jar to use over several days.

Add 1 teaspoon of the above mixture to 1/2 cup of hot water and drink after lunch and dinner

Dosha Adjustments

Adjustments for Vata

Vata types can enjoy this detoxifying tea warm, with a small pinch of sea salt to retain hydration. The warming, aromatic mint and pungent spices clear metabolic waste while keeping variable digestion grounded and calm.

Adjustments for Pitta

Pitta types should drink this blend warm rather than hot, relying on cooling mint and coriander to balance the sharper spices. The herbal tea gently cleanses metabolic accumulation (ama) safely for Pitta while protecting the delicate digestive fire from overheating.

Adjustments for Kapha

This formula is exceptional for clearing Kapha stagnation, heaviness, and sluggish digestion. The blend of dry mint and pungent spices kindles agni, scrapes away metabolic ama, and clears thick congestion throughout the body.
